about Hampton County
Hampton County Airport is rural, non-NPIAS airport dedicated to serving recreational, local business, and emergency | disaster response operations in the South Carolina Lowcountry. The dynamic team of elected officials, County staff, and Airport Commissioners value smart growth with the local general aviation airport at the center of their economic development and community outreach initiatives.
our Expertise
Just a few years ago, the Airport was overgrown, rarely used, and mostly unknown. Today, the renovated terminal building is staffed seven days per week and both 100LL and Jet A fuel are available, with consistent aircraft operations and fuel sales increasing month over month. Approaches to both runway ends have been cleared, the airfield pavement was recently rejuvenated and remarked. Pilots fly from farther origins as the word spreads about 3J0’s low prices, great service, and ease of operation.
Since 3J0 is not in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) and not eligible for FAA funding, most of this laudable progress to date has been locally funded and administered by Hampton County with some support from South Carolina Aeronautics Commission.
MaesAwyr has proudly served Hampton County since 2016, comprehensively guiding them through significant infrastructure improvements and establishing sound airport management processes in incremental steps as funds allowed.
The $3 million hangar development was primarily funded through USDA and SCAC. The airport welcomed new based aircraft tenants in September 2021. The development includes two 10-unit t-hangar buildings and two conventional hangars, full parallel taxiway, airfield lighting, and a new access road and parking lot to separate automobiles and aircraft.
